writing

Sometimes I wonder what we lost when the ancient library at Alexandria burned to the ground. Sometimes I wonder if books will be in heaven. Sometimes I say, “So many books, not enough time.” One Jackson family motto is “Whatever you do, never be book poor.” My wife and I have stacks of books on our nightstands waiting to be read. Are you like this?  So I ask myself, “Why do I plan to add to all those books and hope someone will read mine? Everyone could write a book for everyone has a story to tell. Why me?” Well, even though I do believe there is a time to pick up the sword, I also believe what Edward Bulwer-Lytton wrote in 1839 in his historical play Cardinal Richelieu, “The pen is mightier than the sword.”

Even if no one else reads my books, my blogs, and my articles, I will write them for my posterity – my children, my grandchildren, and my great grandchildren. Maybe at least they will be moved to love my God like I do. Maybe at least they will understand the goodness of God in my life. Maybe at least they will be encouraged to be world changers for Christ. And maybe, just maybe, someone else will be too along the way.

Our Latest Books…

In this book Dr. Jackson not only allows us to follow him as he goes about every individual aspect of disciple-making, but he also challenges us and instructs us in how we can be Great Commission Christians. Through these pages we can observe the person, the process, and the principles involved in being disciple makers. After reading this book completely, then reading it again a second time carefully, I would recommend it to every pastor, every missionary, every small group leader – in fact, every Christ follower who is serious about fulfilling the Great Commission.

-Dr. Michael Cloer, Pastor Englewood Baptist Church | Rocky Mount, NC

The book is now a reality! We can smell it! We can touch it! We laid hands on the books and prayed over them. May God use these books to change hearts and minds!
